GMM Pfaudler Ltd. shares surged more than 7% in early trade on August 6, with the stock touching an intraday high of Rs. 920, after the company reported a sharp jump in consolidated net profit for the June quarter (Q1 FY27).
As of 10:46 AM, GMM Pfaudler shares were trading near the day's high after opening at Rs. 865, compared to the previous close of Rs. 857.10. The stock has traded between Rs. 850.90 and Rs. 920.00 during the session, with over 5.06 lakh shares changing hands.
For the quarter ended June 2026, the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs. 23.9 crore, more than doubling from Rs. 11.2 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, reflecting a 113.4% year-on-year growth.
Revenue from operations rose 16.4% YoY to Rs. 925 crore, compared with Rs. 795 crore in the year-ago period, indicating healthy demand across its businesses.
However, operating performance remained under pressure. EBITDA declined 7.2% YoY to Rs. 93.7 crore from Rs. 101 crore, while the EBITDA margin narrowed to 10.1% from 12.7% a year earlier, suggesting higher input costs and margin compression.
Despite weaker operating margins, investors cheered the significant improvement in profitability and strong revenue growth, driving the stock sharply higher during Thursday's trading session.
