New Delhi, September 21: The ninth India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026 will begin at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday, September 22, with climate-resilient water management at the centre of discussions on water security, sustainability and emerging global water challenges. Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the five-day international event.
Organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti in collaboration with central ministries, state governments, international organisations, research institutions, industry bodies and other stakeholders, IIWW 2026 will run from September 22 to 26. The event will bring together policymakers, global water leaders, researchers, experts, practitioners, industry representatives, civil society organisations, startups and young professionals to discuss innovative approaches to water management.
Netherlands and Germany to Participate as Partner Countries
The Netherlands and Germany will participate as partner countries at IIWW 2026, providing a platform for international cooperation and exchange of experience in water management. Fourteen Indian states will participate as partner states, while six central ministries and departments have been invited as partner ministries and departments.
The programme will feature a series of ministerial and global water leaders' plenaries, country and water leaders' forums, thematic and practitioners' forums, along with dedicated startup, youth and industrial forums. The four-day conference and exhibition will be held from September 22 to 25, followed by field visits and study tours on September 26.
