Prism Johnson shares surged around 6% on Wednesday after the company announced that it had emerged as the successful bidder for additional coal linkages from subsidiaries of Coal India Limited.
Prism Johnson Limited has secured coal supply linkages of 1,28,000 metric tonnes per annum (TPA) through a recently concluded auction conducted by MSTC Limited for the cement industry.
The company will receive 24,000 TPA of coal from Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) and 1,04,000 TPA from South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL). Both ECL and SECL are subsidiaries of Coal India Limited.
Prism Johnson Coal Linkage Expands to 2.79 Lakh TPA
Following the successful bids, Prism Johnson's total coal linkage has increased to 2,79,400 TPA. The company said this will cover approximately half of the annual fuel requirement of its Cement Division.
The new linkage supplements the company's existing coal linkage of 1,51,400 TPA, of which 1,11,400 TPA is scheduled to expire in February 2027.
₹70.49 Crore Annual Contract Value
The total value of the contracts with Coal India's subsidiaries is approximately ₹70.49 crore per annum.
Under the agreements, ECL will supply 24,000 tonnes of coal annually for 10 years, while SECL will supply 1,04,000 tonnes annually for 10 years. The Fuel Supply Agreements are required to be executed within 90 days from the issuance of the Letters of Intent dated August 17, 2026.
