कैंप के संचालक मनोज बिष्ट ने मुख्यमंत्री स्वरोजगार योजना के तहत उत्तराखंड ग्रामीण बैंक से 10 लाख रुपये का ऋण लेकर अपने पर्यटन व्यवसाय को विकसित किया। इस राशि से उन्होंने नथुआखान में कैंपिंग और एडवेंचर गतिविधियों से जुड़ी सुविधाओं का विस्तार किया।

एडवेंचर गतिविधियों का आकर्षण

प्राकृतिक वातावरण और हिमालयी दृश्यों के बीच स्थित इस कैंप में पर्यटकों के ठहरने के लिए कमरे और टेंट की सुविधा उपलब्ध है। इसके अलावा रॉक क्लाइम्बिंग, जिप लाइन, तीरंदाजी, ट्रेकिंग, जंगल साइटसीइंग, स्टार गैजिंग और बोनफायर जैसी गतिविधियां भी पर्यटकों को आकर्षित कर रही हैं।

मनोज बिष्ट ने मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी और राज्य सरकार का आभार जताते हुए कहा कि सरकारी योजना के सहयोग से उन्हें अपने सपने को व्यवसाय का रूप देने में मदद मिली। उन्होंने युवाओं से भी सरकारी स्वरोजगार योजनाओं की जानकारी लेने और स्थानीय स्तर पर रोजगार के अवसर तलाशने की अपील की।

नैनीताल: मां नैना देवी मंदिर परिसर मल्लीताल में 16 से 21 अक्टूबर 2026 तक आयोजित होने वाले 70वें दुर्गा पूजा सांस्कृतिक महोत्सव की तैयारियों को लेकर जिलाधिकारी ललित मोहन रयाल की अध्यक्षता में जिला सभागार में समीक्षा बैठक हुई। बैठक में श्री सार्वजनिक दुर्गा पूजा कमेटी के पदाधिकारियों ने महोत्सव के सफल आयोजन के लिए आवश्यक सहयोग उपलब्ध कराने का अनुरोध किया।

समय से पूरी हों सभी व्यवस्थाएं

जिलाधिकारी ने संबंधित विभागों को महोत्सव से जुड़ी सभी व्यवस्थाएं समय से पूरा करने के निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने नगर पालिका, पर्यटन विभाग, विद्युत विभाग और अग्निशमन विभाग को आपसी समन्वय से मुख्य आयोजन स्थल और फांसी गधेरा क्षेत्र में मंच, पंडाल, प्रकाश, ध्वनि, साफ-सफाई और कचरा निस्तारण की व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित करने को कहा।

17 से 19 अक्टूबर तक यातायात व्यवस्था पर विशेष जोर

बैठक में बताया गया कि 17 से 19 अक्टूबर के बीच विशेष कार्यक्रमों के चलते नैनीताल में भीड़ बढ़ने की संभावना है। इसे देखते हुए जिलाधिकारी ने पुलिस विभाग को यातायात व्यवस्था मजबूत रखने के निर्देश दिए। तल्लीताल, मल्लीताल समेत प्रमुख क्षेत्रों में पर्याप्त पार्किंग व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित करने और अग्निशमन वाहनों की आवाजाही के लिए मार्ग खुले रखने को कहा गया।

मालधन चौड़ में खाद्य विभाग की सघन जांच, चाय और मल्टीविटामिन सिरप के तीन नमूने लिए

रामनगर: त्योहारी सीजन को देखते हुए खाद्य संरक्षा एवं औषधि प्रशासन विभाग ने बुधवार को मालधन चौड़ क्षेत्र में खाद्य प्रतिष्ठानों का सघन निरीक्षण किया। आयुक्त खाद्य संरक्षा एवं औषधि प्रशासन उत्तराखंड और जिलाधिकारी ललित मोहन रयाल के निर्देश पर मालधन चौड़ नंबर-4 और नंबर-2 में मेडिकल स्टोर, किराना दुकानों और मनोहर चाय सहित आधा दर्जन से अधिक प्रतिष्ठानों की जांच की गई।

चाय और मल्टीविटामिन सिरप के तीन नमूने लिए

निरीक्षण के दौरान गुणवत्ता को लेकर संदेह होने पर अलग-अलग विक्रेताओं से मनोहर चाय और मल्टीविटामिन सिरप के कुल तीन नमूने लिए गए। विभाग के अनुसार सभी नमूनों को जांच के लिए प्रयोगशाला भेजा जा रहा है। जांच रिपोर्ट के आधार पर आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

चार प्रतिष्ठानों को जारी किए गए नोटिस

जांच के दौरान एफएसएस एक्ट-2006 के प्रावधानों का अनुपालन नहीं करने, लाइसेंस में गलत पता दर्ज होने और मौके पर खाद्य पंजीकरण प्रस्तुत नहीं करने पर चार प्रतिष्ठानों को ऑनलाइन और ऑफलाइन नोटिस जारी किए गए। संबंधित प्रतिष्ठानों को 15 दिन के भीतर आवश्यक अनुपालन पूरा करने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। निर्धारित अवधि में अनुपालन नहीं होने पर न्यायालय में चालान की कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

विभाग के अनुसार, अधिनियम की धारा 55 के तहत नियमों का उल्लंघन पाए जाने पर दो लाख रुपये तक के जुर्माने का प्रावधान है।

एक्सपायरी सामान अलग रखने के निर्देश

खाद्य प्रतिष्ठान संचालकों को एक्सपायरी खाद्य सामग्री का विक्रय नहीं करने और ऐसी सामग्री को अन्य सामान से अलग रखने के लिए ड्रॉप बॉक्स रखने के निर्देश दिए गए। साथ ही खाद्य सामग्री की गुणवत्ता बनाए रखने और प्रतिष्ठानों में साफ-सफाई का विशेष ध्यान रखने को कहा गया।

वरिष्ठ खाद्य सुरक्षा अधिकारी असलम खान ने बताया कि आगामी त्योहारी सीजन को देखते हुए विभाग की ओर से विशेष सतर्कता बरती जा रही है। उन्होंने व्यापारियों को गुणवत्तापूर्ण खाद्य सामग्री बेचने, बिना बिल के सामान की खरीद नहीं करने, स्टॉक का पूरा विवरण रखने तथा एक्सपायरी खाद्य सामग्री का विक्रय और भंडारण नहीं करने के निर्देश दिए।

खाद्य सुरक्षा अधिकारी ने प्रतिष्ठानों की नियमित साफ-सफाई और आवश्यकतानुसार कीटनाशक का छिड़काव सुनिश्चित करने को कहा। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि खाद्य सामग्री में मिलावट की शिकायत या नियमों के उल्लंघन की स्थिति में संबंधित प्रतिष्ठान के खिलाफ नियमानुसार कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

रुद्रप्रयाग: उत्तराखंड में भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ विजिलेंस की कार्रवाई लगातार जारी है। इसी क्रम में विजिलेंस टीम ने रुद्रप्रयाग जिला अस्पताल में तैनात ऑर्थोपेडिक सर्जन को पांच हजार रुपये की रिश्वत लेते रंगेहाथ गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोप है कि चिकित्सक ने एक व्यक्ति से दिव्यांगता प्रमाणपत्र बनाने के एवज में रिश्वत की मांग की थी।

हल्द्वानी: कभी हृदय रोग को उम्रदराज लोगों की बीमारी माना जाता था, लेकिन बदलती जीवनशैली के बीच अब युवा और बच्चे भी इसकी चपेट में आ रहे हैं। हल्द्वानी में हृदय रोग से पीड़ित बच्चों और कम उम्र के मरीजों की संख्या में बढ़ोतरी सामने आ रही है। विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार तनाव, असंतुलित खानपान, जंक फूड, मोटापा, मधुमेह, उच्च रक्तचाप और शारीरिक गतिविधियों की कमी इसके प्रमुख कारणों में शामिल हैं।

सरकारी अस्पतालों में सुविधाओं की कमी

40 साल से कम उम्र के करीब 15 फीसदी मरीज

कार्डियोलॉजिस्ट डॉ. गौरव यादव के अनुसार अब कुल हृदय रोगियों में करीब 15 फीसदी मरीज 40 वर्ष से कम उम्र के हैं। उनके पास रोजाना एक वर्ष से कम उम्र से लेकर 17 वर्ष तक के करीब 25 बच्चे हृदय संबंधी बीमारी के इलाज के लिए पहुंच रहे हैं।

वरिष्ठ हृदय रोग विशेषज्ञ डॉ. प्रकाश पंत के अनुसार कम उम्र में होने वाली अचानक मौत के पीछे सडन कार्डियक अरेस्ट के साथ ही हृदय की मांसपेशियों में सिकुड़न और जन्मजात हृदय संबंधी विकार भी कारण हो सकते हैं। उनके पास प्रतिदिन करीब 40 बच्चे हृदय संबंधी बीमारी की जांच और उपचार के लिए पहुंच रहे हैं।

बच्चों में इन लक्षणों को नजरअंदाज न करें

विशेषज्ञों ने अभिभावकों से बच्चों में बार-बार होंठ, जीभ, नाखून या शरीर के किसी हिस्से में नीलापन, सांस फूलना, जल्दी थकना अथवा दौड़ने-खेलने के दौरान असामान्य परेशानी जैसे लक्षण दिखाई देने पर तत्काल चिकित्सकीय जांच कराने की अपील की है।

हृदय एवं वक्ष सर्जन डॉ. विकास सिंह ने बताया कि पिछले दो-तीन वर्षों में वह करीब 35 बच्चों की ओपन हार्ट सर्जरी कर चुके हैं। कुछ बच्चों में हृदय संबंधी बीमारी जन्मजात होती है, जबकि कई मामलों में इसके लक्षण बाद में सामने आते हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि कोविड के बाद रक्त के थक्के बनने की प्रवृत्ति बढ़ने की बात सामने आई है, जिसका हृदय पर प्रतिकूल प्रभाव पड़ सकता है।

The latest Myanmar military airstrike in western Rakhine state has once again exposed the devastating human cost of the country’s prolonged civil war. At least 49 people were killed and 58 injured after an airstrike hit near a market in Kyauktaw township on September 28, according to the Arakan Army and local rescue officials.

The reported casualties are particularly disturbing because the strike occurred near a busy market, where vendors, shoppers and pedestrians were present. The Arakan Army said a fighter jet dropped two bombs around noon. The market reportedly serves as an important wholesale centre for the region, making it a crucial part of everyday civilian life.

The incident also demonstrates how Myanmar's conflict is increasingly affecting areas far beyond traditional battlefields. The military seized power in February 2021, triggering widespread resistance and an armed conflict involving pro-democracy forces and ethnic armed organisations. In Rakhine, the Arakan Army has captured much of the territory, including 14 of the state's 17 townships, according to reports.

From a humanitarian perspective, the continuing reliance on air power raises serious concerns. Rakhine is already facing displacement, food shortages and restrictions on trade routes. Nearly half a million people have been displaced in the state because of the conflict, according to United Nations figures cited by Al Jazeera.

The Myanmar military has previously maintained that its operations target legitimate military objectives, while the Arakan Army has condemned the latest attack and threatened retaliation.

The Kyauktaw tragedy therefore should not be viewed as an isolated incident. It is another reminder that Myanmar's conflict continues to place civilians at enormous risk. Any meaningful path towards stability will require greater protection for civilians and sustained efforts to address the country's widening humanitarian crisis.

Neeru Dhanda has scripted a historic chapter for Indian shooting by becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual Asian Games gold medal in the women’s trap event. The 26-year-old shooter from Haryana produced a composed performance in the final, scoring 28 points to clinch the gold medal. India’s reported move to amend the IT Intermediary Rules to prevent children below 18 from opening social media accounts has brought the question of online safety for minors into sharper focus. Ultimately, protecting minors online will require more than a rule on the minimum age for social media accounts. Age verification, platform accountability, privacy protection, parental safeguards and digital literacy will need to work together.

The objective should be to create a digital environment where children can benefit from technology while being better protected from its risks. As India considers changes to its IT Rules, the quality of implementation and safeguards surrounding the policy will be as important as the rule itself.

The striking “Village for Sale, Price: Water” banner put up by residents of Tulshi in Maharashtra’s Solapur district is more than a protest slogan. It reflects how prolonged water scarcity can gradually threaten the economic and social fabric of a rural community.

Tulshi, home to around 7,000 people, has reportedly depended heavily on water tankers after local ponds and wells dried up. Residents say incomplete work under the Sina-Madha Lift Irrigation Scheme has prevented the village from receiving the water it needs, despite canals passing close to the settlement. Around 800 metres of excavation near two outlets has reportedly remained incomplete for decades.

The situation has become more serious because farming and animal husbandry are major sources of livelihood. A water crisis in such a village is therefore not simply a drinking-water problem. It affects agriculture, livestock, household finances and the willingness of younger people to remain in rural areas.

Villagers have staged a hunger strike and other protests, seeking a permanent solution rather than continued dependence on tankers. The reported sanction of Rs 90 lakh for a closed pipeline during 2025-26 indicates that efforts have been discussed, but residents say implementation has not provided the expected relief.

The wider Maharashtra situation also underlines the urgency. The state has faced significant rainfall deficits in drought-prone regions such as Marathwada and Vidarbha, highlighting the vulnerability of rural communities to uneven rainfall.

Tulshi’s “village for sale” message should therefore be viewed as a warning about the consequences of prolonged delays in water infrastructure. Government announcements can provide temporary reassurance, but villages ultimately need functioning pipelines, completed irrigation projects, reliable local water sources and timely maintenance.

President Donald Trump’s announcement of a planned $15 billion steel plant in Iowa puts industrial investment, domestic manufacturing and American jobs at the centre of the economic debate. This distinction is important. Announcing investment and creating industrial capacity are measurable developments, while promises about future household payments depend on legislation, available revenues and implementation details.

The Iowa steel project therefore offers a useful test of the administration’s industrial policy. If completed as planned, it could expand domestic steel production, generate construction and permanent employment and strengthen supply-chain capacity. At the same time, the ultimate economic impact will depend on costs, productivity, market demand and the competitiveness of American steel.

For now, the announcement signals a continued effort to make manufacturing a central part of the US economic strategy. The challenge will be turning ambitious announcements into durable production, jobs and broader economic benefits.

SpaceX’s Starship has achieved a major milestone by reaching Earth orbit for the first time, marking an important moment in the development of next-generation space transportation. The 407-foot, 124-metre Starship launched from SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Texas during its 14th flight test.

The achievement is significant because Starship is being developed not merely as another launch vehicle, but as a fully reusable spacecraft capable of carrying large payloads and, eventually, humans. SpaceX’s long-term vision includes missions to the Moon and Mars, while NASA plans to use Starship as part of its Artemis lunar programme.

What makes this milestone particularly interesting is that the flight was not entirely without problems. One of Starship’s engines shut down during ascent, creating uncertainty about whether the vehicle could continue with its orbital mission. Flight controllers ultimately proceeded, and the spacecraft successfully reached orbit. It also deployed 26 Starlink satellites before returning to Earth.

From a broader perspective, the achievement demonstrates why repeated testing has become central to SpaceX’s approach to rocket development. Earlier Starship flights remained suborbital, providing engineers with data about propulsion, heat shields, flight control and recovery systems. The first successful orbital mission represents a substantial step forward, although it does not mean Starship is ready for routine crewed missions.

The bigger question is whether Starship can eventually deliver on the promise of rapid reusability. If SpaceX can make both the Super Heavy booster and Starship spacecraft routinely reusable, the economics and frequency of space launches could change considerably.

For now, the orbital achievement should be viewed as an important test milestone rather than the end of development. Starship still faces technical challenges, particularly around recovery, reusability and human-rating.

The Maharashtra Public Service Commission’s (MPSC) decision to postpone three major examinations has once again highlighted the growing challenges surrounding competitive examinations in the state. The State Services Main Examination 2026, Maharashtra Civil Engineering Main Examination 2026 and Maharashtra Group-B Non-Gazetted Main Examination 2026 have been deferred, with revised dates to be announced separately.

The immediate reason is the MPSC’s decision to conduct a re-evaluation of answer sheets from the State Services Main Examination 2025 after objections were raised by students and student organisations. The commission has indicated that the re-evaluation process could affect the examination schedule.

From an aspirant’s perspective, however, postponement is not simply a change in a calendar. Competitive examinations involve months and sometimes years of preparation. Candidates organise their study schedules, employment plans and personal commitments around dates announced by the commission. Repeated uncertainty can therefore become an additional burden.

At the same time, the demand for transparency in recruitment examinations cannot be ignored. The Maharashtra government’s examination reform committee has reportedly received more than 20,000 emails from aspirants, with demands including transparent evaluation, fixed examination calendars, timely results and clearer procedures for normalisation and cancellations.

The larger issue, therefore, is not merely whether an examination is postponed. It is whether MPSC can establish a recruitment system in which candidates understand the rules, evaluation procedures and timelines well in advance.

The current situation also affects candidates who have already qualified for the next stage of the 2025 State Services exaamination. Their interviews had been postponed amid the re-evaluation controversy, adding another layer of uncertainty.

MPSC’s challenge now is to balance examination integrity with predictability. Re-evaluation may address legitimate concerns, but the process should be clearly communicated and completed within a defined timeline. For thousands of aspirants, transparency matters, but so does certainty about what comes next.

उत्तराखंड में बारिश का असर: 136 ट्रेकर्स फंसे, हेलीकॉप्टर से होगा रेस्क्यू

देहरादून: उत्तराखंड में लगातार हो रही बारिश और भूस्खलन के बीच पर्वतीय क्षेत्रों में ट्रेकिंग पर गए पर्यटकों की सुरक्षा प्रशासन के लिए चुनौती बन गई है। उत्तरकाशी में 10 ट्रेकिंग दलों के 136 ट्रेकर्स फंसे हुए हैं। उन्हें सुरक्षित निकालने के लिए हेलीकॉप्टर रेस्क्यू की तैयारी की जा रही है। वहीं, बागेश्वर में भी 43 ट्रेकर्स को मौसम खराब होने के कारण सुरक्षित स्थानों पर रोका गया है।

48 घंटे से बारिश का दौर जारी

प्रदेश में पिछले करीब 48 घंटे से कई इलाकों में बारिश का दौर जारी है। मौसम विभाग ने अगले 24 घंटे के दौरान भी बारिश का पूर्वानुमान जताया है। उत्तरकाशी और देहरादून में भारी बारिश का येलो अलर्ट जारी किया गया है, जबकि अन्य जिलों में हल्की से मध्यम बारिश की संभावना है। इसे देखते हुए प्रशासन ने संवेदनशील क्षेत्रों में निगरानी बढ़ा दी है।

मुख्य सचिव ने आपदा प्रबंधन की समीक्षा की

मुख्य सचिव आनंद बर्द्धन ने रविवार को राज्य आपातकालीन परिचालन केंद्र पहुंचकर प्रदेश में बारिश और उससे उत्पन्न परिस्थितियों की समीक्षा की। उन्होंने आपदा प्रबंधन से जुड़े अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक की और सभी जिलाधिकारियों से जिलों की स्थिति की जानकारी ली। मुख्य सचिव ने अधिकारियों को 24×7 अलर्ट मोड पर रहने तथा किसी भी आपात स्थिति में तत्काल कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित करने के निर्देश दिए।

जरूरत पड़ने पर अतिरिक्त हेलीकॉप्टर होंगे उपलब्ध

उत्तरकाशी में फंसे ट्रेकर्स को सुरक्षित निकालने के लिए हेलीकॉप्टर रेस्क्यू की तैयारी की गई है। मुख्य सचिव ने यूकाडा के माध्यम से पर्याप्त संख्या में हेलीकॉप्टर तैयार रखने के निर्देश दिए हैं। जरूरत पड़ने पर अतिरिक्त हेलीकॉप्टरों की व्यवस्था करने को भी कहा गया है। दुर्गम और ऊंचाई वाले क्षेत्रों में मौसम तेजी से बदलने की स्थिति को देखते हुए रेस्क्यू की रणनीति परिस्थितियों के अनुसार बदलने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।

हर हेलीकॉप्टर में सैटेलाइट फोन अनिवार्य

रेस्क्यू अभियान के दौरान संचार व्यवस्था को मजबूत रखने के लिए प्रत्येक हेलीकॉप्टर में सैटेलाइट फोन उपलब्ध कराने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। इससे मोबाइल नेटवर्क से बाहर के क्षेत्रों में भी रेस्क्यू टीमों के बीच संपर्क बनाए रखने में मदद मिलेगी।

रेस्क्यू के बाद ट्रेकर्स की स्वास्थ्य जांच के लिए स्वास्थ्य विभाग को भी तैयार रहने को कहा गया है। एम्स ऋषिकेश और श्रीनगर मेडिकल कॉलेज को आवश्यक स्थिति में तत्काल चिकित्सा सुविधा उपलब्ध कराने के लिए अलर्ट किया गया है।

चारधाम यात्रा पर मौसम के हिसाब से फैसला

चारधाम यात्रा को लेकर भी प्रशासन को मौसम और सड़क की वास्तविक स्थिति के आधार पर निर्णय लेने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। अत्यधिक बारिश या मार्ग अवरुद्ध होने की स्थिति में यात्रियों को सुरक्षित स्थानों पर रोकने और हालात सामान्य होने पर ही आगे भेजने को कहा गया है।

नदियों के जलस्तर पर 24 घंटे नजर

लगातार बारिश के बीच नदियों के बढ़ते जलस्तर को लेकर सभी जिलों में 24 घंटे निगरानी रखने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। नदी किनारे रहने वाले लोगों को जलस्तर बढ़ने की स्थिति में समय रहते अलर्ट करने और डैम-बैराज से पानी छोड़े जाने पर डाउनस्ट्रीम क्षेत्रों में पहले से सूचना पहुंचाने को कहा गया है।

अगले 24 घंटे में बारिश के पूर्वानुमान को देखते हुए प्रशासन का फोकस संवेदनशील क्षेत्रों की निगरानी, रेस्क्यू व्यवस्था मजबूत रखने और पर्वतीय इलाकों में पर्यटकों व तीर्थ यात्रियों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करने पर है।
