India won its third medal in shooting at the 2026 Asian Games as Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane secured silver in the men’s 10m Air Rifle team event in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Monday, September 21. The Indian trio produced a combined score of 1890.1 points to finish second behind China.
Rudrankksh Patil led India with a score of 631.8, while Himanshu Dhillon contributed 630.0 and Parth Mane scored 628.3. Their combined effort placed India ahead of South Korea, which won bronze with 1884.2 points. China claimed gold with 1899.0 points, setting a new world record and improving its previous mark by 0.6 points.
Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon Qualify for Individual Final
The Indian performance also delivered another major boost as Rudrankksh Patil and Himanshu Dhillon qualified for the men’s 10m Air Rifle individual final. Rudrankksh finished third in qualification with 631.8 points, while Himanshu secured seventh place with 630.0. Parth Mane finished outside the individual final qualification places despite his contribution to India’s team silver.
The men’s team silver follows two silver medals won by India in the women’s 10m air rifle events on September 20. Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod won silver in the women’s team event, while Elavenil later added an individual silver.
With Monday’s result, all three of India’s medals at the 2026 Asian Games so far have come from shooting, with the country’s shooters making a strong start at the Aichi-Nagoya Games. Rudrankksh’s silver is also his second Asian Games medal in the 10m air rifle team event after winning gold at the Hangzhou Games.
