Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited fell more than 3% in Tuesday’s trade after the company reported a sharp decline in profitability for the fourth quarter of FY26. Weak operating performance and margin contraction weighed on investor sentiment despite a marginal rise in revenue.
As of 10:48 AM IST, RVNL shares were trading near ₹261-263 levels after touching an intraday low of ₹261.05 on the NSE. The stock opened at ₹263.95 against the previous close of ₹272.45 and touched an intraday high of ₹266.90. Live traded volume stood at over 94.94 lakh shares.
The stock currently remains close to its 52-week low of ₹248, while still trading significantly below its 52-week high of ₹442.80.
RVNL Q4FY26 Results
RVNL reported a consolidated net profit of ₹187 crore in the March quarter, marking a decline of 58.9% compared to ₹455 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
Revenue from operations rose 4.2% year-on-year to ₹6,696 crore in Q4FY26 from ₹6,427 crore reported in Q4FY25.
At the operating level, EBITDA declined 38.4% to ₹269 crore against ₹436 crore in the year-ago period. Operating profitability also weakened during the quarter.
The company’s EBITDA margin narrowed sharply to 4% in Q4FY26 compared to 6.8% in the corresponding quarter last year, indicating pressure on execution efficiency and overall margins.
The decline in earnings and margin contraction appeared to outweigh the modest revenue growth, leading to weakness in the stock during early trade.

RVNL shares have witnessed significant volatility over the past one year. The stock is currently trading around 41% below its 52-week high of ₹442.80, while remaining slightly above its 52-week low of ₹248.
