Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the development of a low-pressure area over the North Andaman Sea around the evening of September 19, following the movement of an upper-air cyclonic circulation from northern Thailand.
IMD Bhubaneswar Director Dr. Manorama Mohanty said the system is likely to intensify gradually and move west-northwestwards towards the south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coast over the subsequent 3–4 days.
Meanwhile, during the next 24 hours, scattered rainfall is expected in Odisha, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds, according to the weather department.
